BREAKFORM | RE buys off-market assets that trade as a result of liquidity events from long time owners, sourced using data, analytics and a deep network of relationships.  Leveraging our knowledge of local laws and entitlement practices, and using relevant design amendments, we are able to obtain permits with expediency, reducing carrying costs, and speeding delivery timelines.  Our full integration of trades and fabrication facilities allow us to further optimize margins and profitability.

This sequence of events – mastered and repeated – results in a scalable and robust investment strategy that can withstand the throes of the residential housing market.

  • Ridaa H. Murad Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer
    Ridaa H. Murad

    Ridaa is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of BREAKFORM | RE and the Manager of all investment vehicles. Ridaa most recently held the position of Principal and Managing Director at Christina Development Corp. Prior to that he held Vice President positions at both HSBC Bank and Barclays Capital where he was in charge of the firms’ Indian Equity Investments and was a member of the Asia Advisory Committee. He was a co-founder of Veda Asset Management, LLC, an alternative investment management firm.  Prior to starting Veda Asset Management, Ridaa was an Associate Director and Product Manager at Bear Stearns in the Structured Equity Products division, where he built their Market Access Product division for South & South East Asia, a $3 billion portfolio of assets in the region. Ridaa is a John C. Whitehead Fellow of the Foreign Policy Association, a member of the Harrow Association, Urban Land Institute, Building Industry Association of Southern California and the Young Entrepreneurs Council. He currently serves on the Board of the Kathi Koll Foundation. Ridaa earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics as a Charles June Patrick Scholar from Bard College in New York.

  • Ramsey W. Daham Director, Chief Development Officer
    Ramsey W. Daham

    Ramsey is a Director of BREAKFORM | RE and Founder of Breakform Design which he started in 2001 as a fabrication, design & build company. He is a licensed architect and general contractor. Under Ramsey’s control, Breakform Design has evolved from a small metal shop to a respected, 16 person fully integrated design + build + fabrication office. Ramsey is a 2-time elected Board Member to the Venice Neighborhood Council’s Land Use and Planning Committee. He is also on the committee focused on updating the City of Los Angeles Small Lot Subdivision Ordinance.  He has a Masters of Architecture from Southern California Institute of Architecture and a Bachelors of Architecture from University of Buffalo. He has been involved with multiple residential real estate projects, Small Lot Subdivision Projects and multi family residential projects in Venice, Santa Monica and West Hollywood, California. He is also currently working on managing the redevelopment, improvements and fabrication work on the Sheats Goldstein Residence; a John Lautner designed historic architectural landmark in Los Angeles and recently an addition to the permanent collection of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

  • Philip Knight Vice President, Chief Design Officer
    Philip Knight

    Phil is the Chief Design Director at BREAKFORM | RE. Phil is in charge architectural design and the implementation of designs from conception through construction. He oversees the team of architects within Breakform Design and also works closely with the entitlement team within Breakform.  He was formerly Lead Designer on the Taiwan Tower Competition with HMC Architects, which received third place out of 129 international firms. He has worked on design + build projects in China, Taiwan, Vietnam, South Korea, Finland, Poland, and the United States. Phil has a Masters of Architecture from Southern California Institute of Architecture and a BA in Community Development from Portland State University.

  • Ben Buckalew Vice President, Chief Fabrication Officer
    Ben Buckalew

    Ben is the Studio Head of Fabrication & Metalworks at BREAKFORM | RE. He has extensive experience in high-end specialty architectural fabrication, specializing in exotic and complex architectural features. His portfolio includes elements created and installed for an A-list of Los Angeles architects and designers. Ben previously worked in art fabrication where pieces he fabricated received the Golden Lion at the Venice Bienalle. Ben has a Masters of Architecture from Southern California Institute of Architecture and a BA in Visual Arts from University of San Diego.

  • Csaba Oszkay Chief Project Manager
    Csaba Oszkay

    Csaba is Senior Site Supervisor for BREAKFORM | RE. He has 30 years’ experience in residential construction. His previous projects include 15 new custom residences and 100 major residential renovations. He has been a licensed General Contractor since 1986. He oversees all construction and build projects in the BREAKFORM | RE portfolio including coordinating all bid sheets, all sub-contractors and overseeing project delivery timelines and site work.

  • Daniel A. Nannenga Chief Financial Officer
    Daniel A. Nannenga

    Daniel is the Chief Financial Officer of BREAKFORM | RE. Daniel has been active in residential high-rise and mid-rise developments, and commercial property investing for nearly 20 years. Prior to the [BREAKFORM | RE, Daniel had a career in Private Equity and Venture Capital focused across a myriad of asset classes from technology, real estate, manufacturing, biotech, life science, etc. Most recently, Daniel founded and exited Motus Consulting Group; a financial and operations focused firm designed to help shore up operations for the sell-side of M&A activity. Daniel currently serves on multiple Boards and has taught seminars on HOA Risk and LIHTC. Daniel graduated from Indiana University with degrees in both Finance and Operations Management and earned his MBA and Masters in Global Supply Chain Management from the University of Southern California.
